AI plate-photo scanning isn't included on the Free plan or during the Pro trial — it's reserved for paying Pro subscribers.
How does billing work for Pro?
Starting Pro begins with a 3-day free trial. A card is required to activate it, but you won't be charged until the trial ends. After that, billing continues automatically — monthly at $4.99/mo or annually at $39/yr (a savings of roughly 35% versus paying monthly) — unless you cancel first. Billing is handled securely through Stripe.
Does the free trial include AI plate-photo scanning?
No. The trial unlocks cloud sync and the full branded food database. AI plate-photo scanning has a real cost per scan, so it's reserved for paying subscribers and unlocks automatically once your trial converts to a paid billing period.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. You can cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings. You'll keep access until the end of your current billing period; we don't offer refunds for partial periods.
What happens to my data if my trial ends or I cancel?
Your data is never deleted. If you never created an account, everything already lives only on your device, unaffected either way. If your trial ends or your subscription lapses on an account, the app locks until you subscribe (or resubscribe) — the moment you do, your logs, weights, badges and streaks are exactly as you left them.
Is AI plate-photo scanning really unlimited on Pro?
It's included with a paid Pro subscription (not the trial) up to 50 scans per month, which resets on the 1st. That cap exists because each scan is a real AI vision API call on our end, unlike every other Pro feature. Everything else in Pro — cloud sync, the full food database, ad-free browsing — has no usage limit.
